Thunderbird Clubhouse Golf Tournament

Three years of golf tournament flyers and related graphic design work. Artwork was used for print and digital promotion as well as sponsor banners and screen printed apparel. Their annual golf tournament is one of their largest fundraiser events and has steadily been gaining popularity since its beginning in 2007. More of the 2012 design process – including alternate logo images – can be seen on this post, and more of the 2013 design process can be seen on this post. It’s that time again… TBCH Golf 2013

… for the TBCH Golf Tourney! Or at least the publicity design for the tournament. Though my only experience with golf involves cussing and pounding my clubs into the ground at the driving range (in hindsight, probably unappreciated by my fellow drivers), Thunderbird Clubhouse lets me do whatever I want when it comes to design. It’s like being my own boss, but for a good cause! This year we decided to go with circus imagery… AND I’M SO FREAKING EXCITED! I’ve never done … Read more…

Midstates Clubhouse Roundup

Thunderbird Clubhouse hosted the annual Midstates’ Clubhouse Conference in 2012 and the event required a theme and logo. Event organizers settled on a western theme and the logo and subsequent marketing and published materials followed suit. The logo was used in print and digital, as well as on screen printed items for conference participants. A website was created for the Thunderbird Clubhouse’s 2012 Mid States Clubhouse Roundup Conference and can be seen here. Thunderbird Clubhouse is a non-profit group located in Norman, Oklahoma helping … Read more…

Design-In-Progress: TBCH Golf Tournament 2012

This year marks the 5th year the Thunderbird Clubhouse has held a golf tournament. Last year was the first year they had my help creating their flyer. This year they said, “Can you just change the date on last year’s? That way you don’t have to do any real work on it.” HA! As if I could ever leave well-enough alone! We’ve been re-playing Bioshock (nerdy, yes… but it’s like my bad eyesight, it’s just part of who I am) and that … Read more…

Gone Fishin’ 2012 part 2

THCB fishing tournament cartoon

In case you’re wondering… I did eventually finish that Thunderbird Clubhouse 2nd Annual Fishing Tournament cartoon. In fact, I’ve actually finished the whole flyer… and the registration… and the big posters…. and the tee shirt design (that’s right, this year we have SHIRTS!). Here’s the finished cartoon of Rowdy and his new lady friend Sheila. I’m not actually sure that they’ve officially been named, but those certainly work for now. Aren’t they glorious?! I’m not much of a cartoonist (uhm, or fisher-person actually) so … Read more…

Thunderbird Clubhouse Honor

TBCH Volunteer of the Year

Last week I got a letter in the mail from Pam Sanford, the director of the Thunderbird Clubhouse. She asked if my husband and I would join her at their annual meeting where they honored me as volunteer of the year. It is so nice to know that not only is my work appreciated by others but that it’s actually going to good use. And not just good use in a general sense, but is being used to help others. That really is an … Read more…
