Chateau de Gudanes

Like much of what I follow and read, I have no idea how I found Chateau de Gudanes but I’ve been following the progress for a while now. If you’re interested in preservation and architecture you should probably visit the chateau on Facebook or their website. From what I understand, a couple from Australia was looking for a vacation home, something like a farm house, and ran across a crumbling chateau in need of – uhm – a little TLC (read better information about the … Read more…

A real Finkton?

CAUTION: Nerd alert! I ran across a photo I’m sure I’ve seen but somehow didn’t really notice until I saw it after a night of playing Bioshock Infinite (again… for like the twelfth time, literally). As I’m sure I’ve noted, I’m the person who nerds out for more than the gameplay. I’m enamored with the architecture and atmosphere of these games – prompting my husband to exclaim “Booorrrriiinnngggg!” more than once when it’s my turn to play. These games take so much to produce, beyond just the … Read more…

More design posts on the way!

Happy Campers | We're In Tents

I’ve not had very many design-related posts lately. Work was running me dry so my energy was depleted by 7 p.m. every Monday through Friday. On weekends the house usually bogarts our time, which I’m alright with since I love it so much and all, but it just leaves so little time for actual creative design. Well, that is, until May 30. Today marks one month since my last day at College of Architecture. After nearly five years at OU I decided I wanted to … Read more…

It’s that time again… TBCH Golf 2013

… for the TBCH Golf Tourney! Or at least the publicity design for the tournament. Though my only experience with golf involves cussing and pounding my clubs into the ground at the driving range (in hindsight, probably unappreciated by my fellow drivers), Thunderbird Clubhouse lets me do whatever I want when it comes to design. It’s like being my own boss, but for a good cause! This year we decided to go with circus imagery… AND I’M SO FREAKING EXCITED! I’ve never done … Read more…

Vertigo and Ghost Chairs

Though I don’t know that I’ve ever mentioned it before, I love a site called Coco Cozy. “Coco” has a fancy media day job in Hollywood and by night (or, whenever she has free time) blogs and designs textiles. I can’t say I’m not jealous. I can’t even pretend for a few minutes I’m not jealous. Of course the trade off is that I get to see the blog and she has to do all the leg work… but… yeah I’m still … Read more…

Nifty Wallpapers from David Vineis

C’mon, Friday! I have a work-free week waiting for me on the other side of you! Until then, I’ll just have to bide my time and enjoy the link provided by one of my favorite blogs How About Orange. These designer chair desktops are amazing, I may have to replace my “retro electronic cats European advertisement” image with one of these. They are available for Mac of PC (I don’t know the difference, I just know there are two files in there) and … Read more…
