Annie Git Yer Cardstock!

My state recently decided something called “Open Carry” is a good idea and today is the day it goes into effect. Coincidentally, it’s also Dia de los Muertos. Anyway, because I don’t have much care in gun laws one way or the other, I’ll celebrate it like I celebrate anything else I don’t know much about… with papercrafts! So here’s to Oklahoma’s new Open Cary Law! Git you some card stock, grab you up some cardboard and let’s go a’shootin’! Printable Pattern | … Read more…

Easy DIY Paper Costumes!

Sometimes I wish I could just go to work with a bag on my head. Think of the time savings! No powder, no flat iron, no daily struggle to with your eyeliner to stop skimping on one eye and splurging on the other, actually you wouldn’t even really have to worry that you washed all of the makeup off from yesterday (though I guess after one day of bag-face you’d really eliminate that problem). Anyway, we are having a Halloween Potluck at work and … Read more…

Pet party!

The down side to having adopted pets is that you never really know their whole history. Birthday, parents’ issues, actual breed or genealogy. Of course, the trade off is that you have fantastic pets that love you more than anything and you have the satisfaction knowing that you saved a life. The other good thing is that you can sort of make up a birthday any time you want. I decided Tyson and Milo’s birthdays are in mid-summer.  Now Milo isn’t as keen … Read more…

Rustic wedding invitations

I’ve been designing the wedding stationary for a friend whose wedding is in September. She’s having a “rustic” wedding and it’s been interesting learning to design around someone like her. She’s great and very easy to work with but she also has an array of things she likes. She’s sent me countless links to sample invitations and suites and rarely do they have features that can be combined. Some modern, some very traditional, some more stylized. Anyway, I tried to use a … Read more…

Happy birthday, Friend!

handmade blue craft birthday card with buttons lace and punches

I created another Fancy Birthday Card a few days ago and I’ve been patiently waiting to post it. I didn’t get it to my friend in time for her birthday  and I didn’t want to spill the beans (the mail doesn’t run on Sundays… a fact I forgot when I was timing this card’s delivery). My husband still says I’m crazy and reminds me “you know they sell those in stores, right?” I don’t care, I’ve never received a handmade card but based on my … Read more…
